Pets can also do nasty stuff, whether they are of the outside kind or the inside one. Aside from just bringing in stuff from the outside (it doesn't have to be a subconscious thing), they can do certain destructive things that they or they may not know. Like for instance, untrained pets can leave their businesses around the house without regard...poop, if you will. Or maybe piss as well.

Pet urine and poo is a bit corrosive in some sense. Aside from looking bad, smelling bad, and being over all unhygienic if left around without no one to bother about it (flies, flies); whatever you might feed your pet will come back to haunt you.

There have been known diets that can cause your pet's poo to be so acidic that it can eat through the protection most chemical sealants give to your floors. In this kind of problem, potty training, or training your dog or cat to do their business in a litter box or outside is very important.

Pets are also very keen in bringing gifts to their masters, cats for an instance. Make sure to keep a good eye out for your pets, unless you want your cat giving you a dead mouse. Though but a gesture of affection, this action can bring in tons of germs, bacteria, and other remnants that I am sure, you don't want inside your house. Again, like mold spores and such. Carcasses (or worse, roadkill) can also leave hard to remove blood stains in grout (if your pet is the type to bring in 'gifts' into the bathroom).

Pets, whether they are aware of it or not, require guidance from their owners so that they can enjoy living in your house without crossing paths with you as the owner. Pets are both innocent, but with this innocence comes the danger of it. It may not only be your floor that could be at risk, but also your health as well.
